The Midlothian Police Department will be moving into their beautiful new building off of US-67 soon. We'll get an update on that and other local information, courtesy of our member Chief Carl Smith

We learned some more about the entertainment available at La Moderna Field in Cleburne and the upcoming season for the Cleburne Railroaders Baseball Club, an affiliate of Major League Baseball. Thanks to Rory Niewenhous for his presentation. Here is the presentation of the children's book honorarium with President Don Ellis.
For many years we have been buying children's books suitable for elementary school libraries and using them as honorariums for our speakers. We'd concentrated on just one or two schools but now are spreading out to the entire district.

I'm shown here making the presentation at McClatchey Elementary School to their librarian, Anthony Norris.

I presented a program about my work as a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight South Central on December 10th. I talked about why there is such an organization,  how missions are posted and accepted, and the actual flight planning for these missions. Angel Flight pilots pay for their aircraft expenses as well as fuel out of their own pocket. It does take effort to maintain the structure for screening patients and other compassion flight uses, as well as maintain waivers and communication, so those staffers are paid, just like most non-profits.

Many of us enjoyed supporting The Salvation Army's Christmas efforts by Ringing The Bell on December 7th at Kroger. We staffed the kettle from 10 a.m. to about 6. The kettle and other equipment were a bit late in arriving, but we still went to work getting folks to drop in a little cash.

Don Ellis and others took a few pictures, and I'll continue a few below.

Our RYLA Campers made an enthusiastic presentation at our meeting on June 25th at Beef 'O' Brady's. Addison, Jorja, Jackson, Shelly and Zoe told us all about their experiences and had a presentation as well as a slide show and even a QuickTime movie.
